We pulled the transmission, torque tube, and header on my cheap manual repossessed Aston Martin V8 Vantage and found exactly why it won't run! It's parts we're destroyed and we're going to have to fix it, but the price for JUST the parts are extremely expensive!!!

  • $25,000 for an Aston that needs thousands in repair, or a Free Huracan? Download State of Survival now: stateofsurvival.co/samcrac Enter to win a Lamborghini!

    • The flywheel can be sharpened and the clutch plate can be provided with new friction material. The thrust bearing can m isschien of a bmw or something

    • 🤣🤣... I been playing state of Survival for 2 years now. I could have paid for 1 and half Lambo with the amount I spent on that game... 🤣🤣

    • There are places that could rebuild that clutch too.

    • You could probably rebuild the slave and have the flywheel machined. Centerforce Cft361909 Centerforce Ii Clutch Pressure Plate Sale Price $250.32

    • Fuck his ads

  • From all the clutch plates I have seen, they are worn out when they start to wear the rivets. I would get the flywheel faced at a good machine shop if there are no heat cracks in the face. Save some money. You have got off light I reckon. You will need a clutch plate, pressure plate and a throwout bearing though. I would research (ford parts for example) as you may find those bits might interchange. Get in touch with clutch specialists, they may be able to help if you give them dimensions of the bits. As your expert said, these have not much low down torque, so someone had given the clutch a flogging to show off. Good luck.

  • Rich at the end... my goodness I'm still laughing my ass off!

  • "profusely bleed" was the perfect rhyme.

  • Rich will now be in my nightmares singing that song

  • I would have got the auction house to take off 10,000 dollars for me to get the transmission rebuilt, the car was only worth 12,000 dollars as-is when he bought it at auction.

  • When 5 bucks worth of lumber could save your life, but you don't bother.

  • The thought of putting that transmission back in, is nightmare fuel.

  • I'm all for the 4wheeler, if it fits and works who cares

  • so funny at the end with Rich....LOL

  • You get all these cars, why not get a lift installed in your work space.

  • Maybe next project Sam, instead of buying an Aston or Ferrari - buy and install a decent car lift? Because some day your videos will stop coming and its because you were crushed under a project car!

  • Nice job!!! Theres no better feeling than doing stuff your self!!!

  • Rich is a classic lol

  • Why don't you but a car ramp?

  • Ok. Rich is the Fucking Best!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

  • With how hard that's coming out of there I would hate to have to try to put it back in.

  • No safety glasses, no extra jacks to support vehicle weight, no gloves, no safety in mind

  • He needs to invest in a lift to work on his vehicles

  • Sam please please go buy a lift....please

  • Rich's song at the end had me crying with laughter, £2000 for a clutch and pressure plate is insane - it might be worth going scrapyard hunting

    • out the factory seals and you will have to buy a new one and do the job all over again! I learned that the hard way

  • parts of your body. As someone that worked in a large oil refinery for over a decade - wear gloves when dealing with oil, especially used engine and transmission fluids.

  • A full shop lift is not that expensive...those jack stands and all that hauling is freaking me out

  • Get a lift Sam!!!

    • Kevlar friction material for a couple hundred delivered. Now I'm trying to remember why I sold that thing...

  • 9:45 Just close your eyes and listen for the next minute or so. Lol

  • Wtf wtf wtf that ending was an another level hilarious!!!!!

  • ooh *two* sponsorships for me to skip completely

  • I came straight to the comments as soon as I saw the car lifted that fashion with the guy underneath to see if anybody else got triggered

  • I love seeing you DIY’ing the work. It shows you are not afraid to tackle the work and gives confidence to others. Enjoying the content.

  • Tittle so dramatic

  • Harbor Freight Jack stands. 😬

  • Ok...subscribed. You got me👍. That song at the end, pushed me right over😂

  • only 2 stands, seems really unsafe

  • I am so excited about this car! Thanks for all the great content!

  • Brooooo.... you need a lift - its hurting my back watching you guys struggle under the cars like this. Either way great videos - really enjoy the content.

  • Just saw the new video but now its gone Why?

    • Coming back online in minutes....

  • So what has happened to the next video which has been deleted?

    • Coming back online in minutes!!!

  • Wtf happened to his new video i was in the middle of watching it an he privated it

    • @Samcrac kk thanks

    • It will be back online shortly!!!

  • What happened? I was watching the next video and it suddenly went black, said "This video is unavailable." Then changed to "This video is private."

  • Many years ago, I burned out the clutch in my Alfa GTV-6 and the dealer wanted a grand for just the clutch disk. I had the flywheel machined at a shop for $30 and upgraded to Kevlar friction material for a couple hundred delivered. Now I'm trying to remember why I sold that thing...

  • Arter all this time having this channel, why dont you get a car lift?

  • The song at the end makes the video! LOL!

    • Clickbait title, it's just a busted clutch disk at exotic prices.

  • Mike did a insane job, well done. Damn.

  • Best outro ever 😂

  • The only thing more annoying than Sam refusing to buy a lift, is his refusal to build a damn chicken coup to house that violent rooster while filming.

  • Best video you have ever made

  • Generic parts company , good parts no More than £600.00

  • To see that something as simple as a clutch plate, thrust bearing, and pressure plate, and containing material identical to that (as you say of a BMW) in most international car manufacturers that charge a fraction of what you illustrate, I'd be inclined to measure it, and look for a 'generic' type. There are manufacturers who specialise in reconditioning pressure plates and clutch plates, and I'm quite certain the thrust bearing can be replaced (pressed off - pressed on) with a generic one from a bearing specialist.. ..or even check if Aston Martin use a manufacturer different to their own name...

  • $4000 in parts on an Aston Martin? Sounds like a broken cigarette lighter.

  • All of which nuts?

  • Clickbait title, it's just a busted clutch disk at exotic prices.

  • Good luck getting it back in.

  • Oh and if you want to get out of that repair cheaply, send the whole lot (including pressure plate & flywheel bolts for balancing purposes) in to a clutch reliner repair shop, they will reline the old pressure plate with new linings & re balance it for probably 100 bucks and the same for the clutch plate & flywheel , a skim cut on a lathe & re balance say at a car performance joint or a truck repair shop. Then all you goto do is replace the throw out bearing & spigot bearing.

  • Man the original owner has no idea how to drive a manual anything let alone a car, He/she destroyed that clutch & it's a decent size too & still smoked it. Rather you than me fixing that disaster, fixing Tractors & 4 wheel drives is enough for me.

  • I swear this guy will shill anything for a payday.

  • Wait til you see the prices of major parts for the tractor I see parked.

  • Sam, seriously, when are you going to take some of that shill $$ and buy a proper lift?

  • Lol Ford Fusion

  • Sam, ever hear of safety glasses?

  • Why wouldn’t you put it up on four jackstands?!

  • Watching them work under that car and him shaking the trans made me very nervous!

  • Get a twin-plate clutch / lightweight flywheel kit from Velocity AP for it, there is no reason to pay the Aston tax only to get another single plate and heavy flywheel.

  • Explain to me that he can spend so much money on buying these cars he can't get a hydraulic lift and a trans check?

  • That’s for the standard clutch, which, trust me, you really don’t want. You need the light weight flywheel and the twin plate clutch upgrade.

  • 8:36 Next time you might want to turn the jackstands around so they don't collapse when you hit them with you knee (just to be safe that is..)

  • This is just a absolute mess of a removal. Looks like this guy hired a mechanic to work on his car, then he filmed him working. "we got it out so quickly" 🤣😂

    • seriously, he buys an aston martin at half price and he bitches about high priced parts ? Next time buy a toyota and you won't have these problems.

  • The song at the end alone gets a thumbs up. its just amazing how much they charge (Aston Martin)

  • Hey Sam, I think you should invest 1/2 of what you paid for the Aston into a lift. Working under the car like that is ridiculous...

  • When I changed the clutch of my Volvo 940 on our driveway in similar fashion I put the car on four piles of 60x60x4 cm concrete garden tiles I picked up for free up to a height of 70 cm. In all it was a good workout and it took me plenty time to jack it all up step by step, but the car stood very stable and absolutely safe and I had way more clearance and working space without the annoying stands. Very cheap and strongly recommended!

    • Btw that new clutch set cost me only about 150 USD!

  • They have these mystical things you can buy from Home Depot for $10 - they're called Z87 rated safety glasses. Amazing how a $10 thing can save one of the most valuable parts of your body. As someone that worked in a large oil refinery for over a decade - wear gloves when dealing with oil, especially used engine and transmission fluids.

  • I'm curious as to why you thought it was a good idea to plug for State of Survival with footage that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual game? Have you even launched the game yourself? That plug makes me believe you have not.

  • Surprising to see a single mass flywheel, thousands saved right there

  • I've to work on my car, where could I look for repair manuals?

  • Is there a logical reason why you don't own a lift?

  • Watched a video of professional bowlers in a car talking shop, driving down the road texting, without seat belts. You guys ought to know better to be working under a vehicle without proper support.

  • call the machine shop and retro fit something normal. your just going to burn it up again any way.

  • Amen~!

  • Consider a rear main while you have the trans out sir!! While you have the trans out run the trans through all of its gears manually and make sure that the trans is capable of transmitting power. Also, adjust your outside mirrors so that your air conditioning will calibrate. Ok...that last was a bit of bullshit. Sorry I am just in that kind of mood after watching you two yahoo's torturing yourselves. Too bad you don't live anywhere near Jay, Oklahoma. I would happily invite you to use my hoist. That, plus a garage full of tools I have accumulated over 60 years of automotive mechanics. Things like a tranny jack, welding equipment, air compressor, 30' X 70' shop. A nice little fishing boat. I live 20 min from Grand Lake o' the Cherokees. I am a full service garage who's only customer is me.

  • Samcrac why the hell don't you buy an actual car hoist so that you can stand up under the car and work like a pro. You have no idea how much extra work you do because you are laying on your back dribbling dirt into your eyes. I have had my own hoist for a decade for working on my own four cars. Give yourself ten more years and you will quit killing yourself on your back. A pro hoist should be no more than $3-5 K depending on how much weight you want to pick up. Get smart bro!!

  • Sam, IT'S TIME TO BUY A BLOODY VEHICLE LIFT! Stop being such a cheapskate it really does not make your videos any more interesting. Just do it, please.

  • Sam ! Why have you not hit up the mother in law for a vehicle lift & a stand up transmission jack ? Has Rich pissed her off ??

  • seriously, he buys an aston martin at half price and he bitches about high priced parts ? Next time buy a toyota and you won't have these problems.

  • A very impressive lack of profanity here you guys.

  • Slave cylinder

  • Hey Dick head....Buy a lift....!!!!!

  • The axle stands are obviously more important than the health of the fella lying on the floor, the axle stands have wood below them the fella has to lie on the bare concrete.....

  • Thank goodness there is fast forward, I hate those adverts at the start of the video.....

  • Let's see $4,000 for an Aston-Martin Clutch Kit or under $500 for a CenterForce 1969 427/435 Corvette Clutch Kit. Does this mean the Aston-Martin is 8 times better than 1969 427/435 Corvette? Give me a few minutes to decide........!! Guess which one is more fun to drive? Oh yeah, I forgot.....James Bond doesn't drive a Corvette. Talk about masochism!!!

  • Why in the hell don't you have a lift.

  • Centerforce Cft361909 Centerforce Ii Clutch Pressure Plate Sale Price $250.32

  • get the existing clutch resurfaced and a new throwout bearing.. dont spend $$ on dealer parts.... or look up their part number but i suspect these parts are bespoke

  • My vantage is at the dealer getting the clutch replaced right now. 10k and parts are super rare…

  • Gotta get a lift bro...

  • Next time you spend 25k in a car. Buy a nice lift

  • Who would have thought your Aston is easier to work on than my civic. lol

  • Buy a jag cluch

  • Found the clutch kit online for $591

  • Too funny especially Rich's singing at the end 🤣 😂 😆 😄 😅!!!

  • Time to get a lift for Christmas Sam

  • Since there’s no catastrophic damage I would have the fly wheel resurfaced and the clutch and pressure plate rebuilt! save some money and have a local shop rebuild them!

    • Just because someone has a high performance car DOES NOT mean they know how to drive. I’m willing to bet that motor has MAJOR ISSUES from over-revving .
