  • Ive had my 128i for almost a year now, ive put 15k miles on her so far and she’ll be crossing 160k miles soon. Same red on black spec. She has yet to let me down. Take care of your bmw, and your bmw takes care of you.

  • Is Ninja Albanian because I swear he has the most Albanian accent I’ve ever heard

  • Ohhhh my lord, this was the exact car I was going to get for my college graduation, red interior, 6 speed, and all, but my dad wanted to get me an SUV to start out adulthood with. Grateful for the Yukon and not this!

  • That car is beautiful.

  • BM trouble U

  • What is the name of the wheels

    • I found out Apex ARC-8

  • The 135i is amazing car

  • Great thing about Hoovie in the shop. It's broken? "Yeah, just fix everything." 😂

  • Brave Mechanic Work$

  • "It was fast until it started misfiring" could be an honest advertising slogan for BMW

  • I loved it when Hoovie said ,"then I'm gonna take it to the track...then it will probably blow up." Jonny looks at Hoovie with a big smile and says "OK". Like he's seen this event take place over and over with Hoovie's knack for breaking things. Total LOL.

  • I have a 2001 e46 325i that is a lil demon...added a few lil tricks to the arsenal but not a full racer...sure the e46 leaks like a sieve but the styling is worth it.

  • That “storage cubby” are notorious for breaking😂 so is the passenger window that’s all I’ve experienced in my relations with the 135i

  • Car ninja seems like a really good guy, amazing how highly competent honest mechanics are rare like unicorns but there's ninja working in the same town as Car Wizard

    • threw u and the car u have lol so please a update on it lol

  • HOOVIE, WHEN YOURE DONE WITH THE CAR, I WANT IT! IM LOCAL

  • You know he is trouble when in his intro of the video you can see the towing eye has already been fitted to make recovery easy when the BMW does what they always do to Hoovie and break down

  • n54’s don’t typically blow up, its always the parts on the engines that go, and some can make one think an engine is blown when it’s not

  • Tyler are you allergic to the e36? You actually said the words slightly bigger then an e30 to avoid sayig it.

    • Nice grab. I love my N54!

  • My 08 335 with n54 is very reliable actually. Had a jb4 and fbo. 105k miles. I’ve only replaced a crank sensor inn3 years of ownership. I regularly bounce it off there’s limiter to get some pops. Still runs like a dream

  • Coil packs are nice and convenient, but I've had to replace wayyy more on cars than I ever did with traditional ones. (I keep a spare in the trunk of my Audi--I've had to replace them on the road twice.)

  • been waiting for this for YEEEARS finally u bought an E82!!

  • That silver Porsche turned orange was your best purchase. Reliable and timeless. SMH

  • Hoovie actually has an entertaining, interesting channel. I'm just having trouble getting past the voice.

  • The N54 deserves worship because so few turbocharged inline sixes came to the US, and so few were available with a manual. Drive a 2JZGTE or a 1JZGTE or a RB20/25DET and you realize that the turbo inline six is just so sublime. If the N54 weren't a basketcase it might deserve further accolades, but really its only special because is the only readily available turbo inline six for US buyers.

    • $460 each for fuel injectors.... :'(

  • Ditch the jb4 dinosaur, except maybe to control the meth, and do a custom backend flash with mhd. Reliability will go way up without all the jb4 wackyness.

  • what you're feeling in the rear end is the crazy soft rear subframe bushings. originally the car had run-flats. Once you add normal tires and stiffer suspension all that energy gives at the subframe bushings. The best thing to do is add solid aluminum bushings. TC Kline is a good recourse for these suspension-wise. Also might as well go with some pure turbo upgrades as well.

  • Did anyone else see the grin on Jonny's face when hovie was doing those pulls? I predict Jonny ends up buying that BMW.

  • Who ve where is the 60ties red vet that body style is my favorite the first vet I ws In as a little boy I’ll probably never be able to afford that beautiful car and ws hoping I could live threw u and the car u have lol so please a update on it lol

  • Car ninja seems like a really good guy, amazing how highly competent honest mechanics are rare like unicorns but there's ninja working in the same town as Car Wizard

  • There are so many fabricated lies in this video it's hilarious

  • The grin on your faces

  • Nice grab. I love my N54!

  • Worst engine? Strongest stock internals!!!!

    • @dolita windo check out neutral drop lol

    • Hoovie called the BMW 135i one of the best BMWs in the last decade. 😱 This is the greatest car EEpush channels of all time.

  • The n54 doesn't blow up easily, it's a solid engine. The supporting parts are classic failure points. The people buying the cars over 100k miles expect to do minimal or no maintenance and slap on go fast parts. Get new vanes solenoids and filters, clear codes and try again.

  • Hoovie didn’t get the memo that the n54 is the new 2jz

  • Euro trash with parts costing 5 to 10 times higher then their asian counterparts. Reliability of European car parts have a short lifespan. Can't even floor it once without have multiple warning lights come on. And another $500 to $2,000 to fix the issues. Meanwhile your Asian cars allows you to floor it hundreds of times if not thousands of times before multiple warning lights come on. And it can cost anywhere from $5 to $1,500 to fix the issues... But you don't have to repair it often and the lifespan lasts much longer too!!!

  • Good Looking Car Hoovie!!!

  • Fan of BMWs (own 2) but this really isnt even close to the 2jz. The 2jz got its reputation for being over engineered and bulletproof, these bmw engines are literally the complete opposite.

  • That would be an Awsome sleeper engine Swap project

  • So Tyler, is that front tow hook permanently attached?

  • Here’s what you need. www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/753033383/overview/

  • The 4 series are not comparable to a 1. It’s a 2 series comparable.

  • I had a 2008 135i M Sport. Loved it so much. I don’t understand why you bought this POS. It doesn’t even have the M pack or shadow line. Saying you can make these better than a 1M?Well this is definitely not it.

  • Friend of mine had one of these, probably one of the most fun cars to tight track. We actually had the 135 and another friends clown boot M Coupe out the same day, both fun, both very different, but I would take the 135 for tracking. Great video Hoover.

  • Loved my 128i and 135i....Those cars are a blast to drive because of the size.

  • Stock subframe bushings have gaps in them and cause the tail to wiggle under load at well. M3 bushings fit.

  • Hoovie called the BMW 135i one of the best BMWs in the last decade. 😱 This is the greatest car EEpush channels of all time.

  • Thank you so much for convincing me to not consider buying one of these anymore. I've toyed with the idea for several years as prices have dropped below $15k, but those potential maintenance costs... that's why I got out of BMWs several years ago. I'll stick with the FR-S for a while.

  • I has one of these, last year with the n54. My first new BMW. I loved it, only issue I had was the hpfp, covered under warranty. Traded it in with about 40k miles (plenty of those on track).

  • Doug demuro called. He wants his speech patterns back.

  • I wonder if the 1Ms suffer from the same issues considering it's an ///M car ? The styling of the 1 has always bothered me with slight influence of the Bangle era. Someone once called it the BMW with downs syndrome, and I think that's really a good description of it. The location of the air filters on that engine is completely stupid unless there was a functional hood scoop on the car.

  • Cars and bids huh? *THIIISSS* is where I bought my 135i.

  • “I can’t think of why they’d make the cars ugly on purpose” 😂😂😂 So true Tyler

  • Thats funny how I gave up looking for a 335i & said "they're a little ugly but if I find a 135i I'll cop it because it's the same engine", now tyler is gonna drive the price up !

  • EEpush... where every channel is a self indulging weiner with too much bloody money

  • As an owner of an N54 135i, with the right owner and the willingness to put up with the unreliable aspects of the engine. The actual rotating assembly and motor it’s self is very very well built. Its just painful to work on at times.

  • Love how the BMW 1 series comes with the towing hook permanently installed on the front

    • If only every n54 misfire was that easy

  • Cool, a tow hitch so you can have a spare 1 series on hand!

  • Hoover, I like when you buy really old Bentleys.....those are the best videos

  • I just got rid of it and I miss it 😊🥲🥲

  • Try to get a Honda Legend (Acura RL)

  • Bigger is not better, especially in BMW land

  • N54 is fine from a stock and solely engine stand point. Its just the accessories its using are unreliable and expensive to replace. Bmw has much worse examples of just plain unreliable engines (v10 m5 I’m looking at you)

  • E60 the best IMO

  • I have a 08 325i with the n53 engine, on its 3rd hpfp all within 65000 miles lmao + everything else that was replaced by the previous owner. Love it though but does make car ownership quite stressful

  • There’s a 335i near me for sale with 195k miles on it. I wonder how much money the owner(s) sunk into it to get it that far.

  • Ive got a e53 x5 3.0i 06. 148k miles. Running strong with no major problems. I personally dont think “all” bmws are bad.

  • Nice always wondered about these lol. I just got one for my channel it’s going to be fun

  • I laughed heartily when you said “BMW engineering”.

  • The amount of stuff you can do with the electronics on a BMW is incredible. Then again that’s the problem too. Also never buy a car from New Jersey unless you enjoy rust.

  • If only every n54 misfire was that easy

  • Can't picture buying a BMW.

  • This is the most horseshit ive ever heard out of Hoovies mouth. The N54 is extremely reliable when maintained properly and they do NOT randomly explode! Cmon man, chill with the click-bait talk.

  • Yup. Spun a rod bearing on a 2009 535XI back in 2017. Never touched one since.

  • i wonder what car ninjas native language is? spanish? portuguese?

  • As a N54 person I hate how ppl say they are super unreliable when in reality it’s very reliable ppl just get clapped out N54 and then claim/give N54 a bad name just don’t buy a ugly super abused N54 Once all the maintenance is done car is GREAT and will last

  • Are you coming to the SCCA Time Trials at Topeka, May 15 & 16? Would be fun with this car (assuming Ninja gets it all sorted for you). Planning to be there with my FR-S.

  • Lmao I have the same car

  • Hoovie's Hoopties needs new content. Come on we do like your channel so when can we expect news on your Lamborghini that is finished etc?

  • Anybody else notice the 2" receiver? What are you towing with a 1 series??? Lol

  • Car ninja seems like a really good guy, amazing how highly competent honest mechanics are rare like unicorns but there's ninja working in the same town as Car Wizard

  • I prefer my N52 over the N54, IMO a lightweight port injected NA stright six manual is the truest form of BMW. I adore it. For context, the N52 might be common in the US but in the UK it's very rare, we have 118d, 120d, 123d, 118i, 120i that are all 4 cylinders and slow. So the 125i, 130i, and 135i all being straight six all feel very special here.

  • I know why this mechanic is always smiling because going to earn more money again big time😂

  • After Tyler blows it up on the track, he could put a turbo 2JZ in it. That'd tick off the BMW crowd.

    • You're taking it to the "Ninja"? R.I.P. BMW 1 Series.

  • Two grand in repairs for a Jersey driven 13 year old BMW... Unbelievably cheap! Hahaha just be sure to have Ninja check over the Belt & Tensioner, that's killed more N54/55's than you could imagine.

  • N55 DCT 135i convertible with 1M parts and plus a little more is an absolute pinnacle of crazy performance and daily reliability. beware the cheap mods that completely undermine the engineering worse than bimmer stealership mechanic incompetence and screw ups.

  • But….it wasn’t made in the last decade…..

  • Please buy the cheapest Maserati Biturbo

  • Hoovie! Long time listener, first time caller. Trying to buy a surprise hooptie for my girlfriend. Local Wichita’n. Actually right down the road from you. Anything you have lying around? Happy to pay fair market.

  • Besides all the expensive maintenance I love mine

  • Hey Hoovie I know you have a car buying problem, so if you ever feel like buying one for someone in need please consider me. I'm disabled and the town I live in is 100 miles from any major services like hospitals. A car would change my life, and quality of life.

  • I live in this mans neighborhood

  • looks like a good overall car check up!

  • Bro Adamlz has an N54 running 700+ easily. Engine defo unreliable

  • The ninjas 🥷 smile 😃 is classic cha Ching $$$

  • Get that oil filter housing fixed! Oil leaks onto the serpentine belt, and then the belt breaks and gets sucked up through the front crankcase seal and then you have to spend a fortune having your engine taken apart to get pieces of belt removed (don't ask me how I know). Wonderful engineering!

  • That car sounds awesome. :) This is not the wizard. :)

  • You're taking it to the "Ninja"? R.I.P. BMW 1 Series.

  • I need to do more research. I thought these engines were very strong

  • I'm watching your commercials all the way through so you can pay your tax bill (edit: and pay the Ninja).
